EXPERT REVIEWS

The Moto X 2nd Generation was launched during September 2014 and featured as a premium upgrade to its predecessor. Motorola had left no stone unturned while launching this phone as it boasts exciting features with a solid quality build.
The Moto X 2nd Generation features a 5.2 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that provides a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display has enabled multi-touch while houses 424 ppi rich screen. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked to a 2.5 GHz Krait 400 Quad-core processor and a 2GB RAM.

The phone runs on Android OS version 4.4.4 (Kitkat), with the help of MIUI 5.0 skin, while the android version is planned to be upgraded to version 6.0 (Marshmallow). The phone comes with a 16/32 GB internal memory. It is loaded with 13 MP rear camera assisted by an LED flashlight and 2MP front camera. The camera also allows HD video recording at frames like 2160p@30fps. The Moto X is a very beautiful phone and the use of metal body gives a premium experience. The front panel of the phone houses a lot of sensors and so feels very busy. The rear panel is curved, which makes it easy for users to handle the phone.

The phone is handy with its dimensions as 5.54 x 2.85 x 0.39 inches and it weighs around 144 grams. It has a non-removable 2300 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The best part about Moto X 2nd Gen is that it bundles all the advanced features present in flagship smartphones and so gives a power packed performance. There are absolutely no cons in the processor sector as it provides very smooth performance. The back cover of the phone comes in unique design, such as plain black plastic, black with black leather, and white with bamboo. The display is nice and produces warm and vibrant colors. The phone uses stock android skin and has not gone that extra mile to customize their own skin, which again is a great move. The phone houses Motorola Display, which uses an infrared sensor to detect various gestures performed by its users. The camera provided works decently and videos recorded by them  are fantastic. The internal memory cannot be expanded as no MicroSD card slot is provided in the phone and this single-handedly could be a deal-breaker for many users. The speaker provided in the phone could produce scratchy sound sometimes.

The Phone finds stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy A5 and Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. The Moto X 2nd Generation has a sleeker design, unique infrared gesture sensor and great battery life, which makes it a worthy competitor.

The Moto X 2nd Generation is the best smartphone for users searching for a smartphone that possess high end flagship features. The phone gives an excellent performance, takes decent snaps, has a great battery life and houses innovative voice and gesture features, which makes it a best buy amongst smartphones.
