We have seen a long list of Chinese smartphone manufacturer trying to have their share of the Indian smartphone market and each year the list seems to increase. We all have heard of Huawei, as the company that manufactures routers and Wi-Fi, has decided to enter the smartphone segment by launching its Honor series of smartphones in the Indian market. Honor 6 was launched by Huawei last year in August and attracted a lot of attention owing to its amazing specifications and mouthwatering price.
The Huawei Honor 6 features a 5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that provides a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The phone is powered by a unique HiSilicon Kirin 920 chipset clocked to Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A15 & Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processor, while having a 3GB RAM.The unique feature of the processor is that it’s indigenously developed by HiSilicon, a subsidiary of Huawei. The phone runs on Android OS version 4.4.2 (KitKat), with planned upgrade to version 6.0 (Marshmallow), with the help of Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 skin. The phone comes with a 16 GB internal memory, while the memory can be expanded to 32 GB by its users using the MicroSD card slot provided in the phone. The 13 MP rear camera provided in the phone is assisted by a Dual-LED flashlight, while the front shooter is provided with 5MP. HD video recording is done by the camera at frames like 1080p@30fps.
The design of this phone is inspired heavily by both Apple iPhone 4S and Lava Iris Pro 30. The phone has a faux glass back panel and an artificial metallic trim that runs along its edges. Being entirely made out of high quality plastic, the phone weighs only 130 grams and so could be used for long stretches of time. The Non-removable 3000 mAh Li-Po battery provided in the phone works great.
The Huawei Honor 6 has a blazingly fast processor that enables its users to have an ultimate android experience. Videos and games are played without any kind of lag and its performance is comparable to high-end flagship phones. The 441 ppi rich display is produces bright and vibrant screen, but suffers from sunlight legibility. The Emotion UI running on the phone has cool features like the Suspend button, which is a mobile button that houses various kinds of utility options. Again, the UI doesn’t feature an app drawer, while the pre-installed apps are kept to a bare minimum. The camera is a sort of mix bag and performs averagely, but the front shooter works surprisingly well which makes it great for selfie lovers.
The Phone finds stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy E7 and Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. When compared to Galaxy E7, Honor 6 has more RAM and compared to M4 Aqua, the Honor 6 has better display and is available at a lesser price tag.
The Huawei Honor 6 is the best smartphone for users searching for a great smartphone under Rs.20,000 that possesses high end flagship features with decent battery life. The phone offers a power packed experience with its blazingly fast processor, optional Dual SIM and Dolby Digital Plus audio enhancement that makes it one of the best smartphones present in the market.
